Being thankful positions us to receive and experience the miraculous power of God moving in our lives. In reality, an ungrateful heart shuts the door to us receiving anything from God. If you are one who is in love with God and His ways, being fully committed to live according to His Word, you will soon recognize that every good thing you have is from Him! The Bible teaches that when we remain in a place of thankfulness, we have nothing in common with the enemy, and give him no grounds to come in and cause havoc in our lives. Thankfulness and faith are of the same spirit – they work as one formidable force of protection against the fiery darts of the enemy.  Like a shield, a thankful heart and attitude of mind, rises up against any negative thoughts that are purposed to bring worry, doubt, or fear.  In fact, thankfulness doesn’t just quench the fire in those darts, it immediately neutralizes any poison a hurtful remark carries too.  The enemy and all his tactics are powerless against a grateful heart! This is true in the area of self-worth. When we remain thankful and mindful of what the finished work of the cross has done for us, we will constantly be aware of our right standing with God and the firm revelation of who we are in Christ. The Apostle Paul is a great example of a man, who fully loved God and lived a life of thankfulness. Despite any and all situations he experienced, He always remained grateful and thankful for what the Lord Jesus saved him out of and brought him into! He was overjoyed to be able to have an inseparable relationship with the Lord Jesus and do the work of the ministry through the power of the Holy Spirit. A life of thankfulness kept him moving forward in His God given assignment, because he refused to forget the miracle of who he had become after his encounter with Jesus. Like Paul, a grateful heart will never allow you to quit, or see a situation as something God is not able to turn around or bring you out of. Thankfulness will cause you to experience life from a place of victory and joyful intimacy with the One who has given you everything!
