A Word in Season

There are people in the body of Christ, all around us that are facing severe trials and as a result, have become weary. Yet one encouraging word spoken in season can literally infuse them with supernatural strength, release God’s peace that transcends all understanding, and stir up the joy of the Holy Ghost from their spirits! And not just any joy – an  irrepressible joy that is full of glory! This is because that word in season is a word from God that carries resurrection power! We see this very thing happen to Jesus in Luke 22:43.  The Bible tells us in the Garden of Gethsemane – Jesus was under tremendous mental anguish when He considered what He was about to endure on that cross.  In His time of need, an angel came to strengthen Him.  The Greek translation for the word “strengthen” means to impart strength, to empower and recharge, to fill someone with heartiness and give them new vitality!  That angel didn’t minister to Jesus’ natural body with natural food or drink! He ministered to His soul with the truth of God’s mighty Word of power!  He reminded Jesus of what the finished work of the cross would accomplish for all mankind! The Bible says we, who are in Christ, are His inheritance through what He accomplished from His death, burial and resurrection! This infused Jesus with such supernatural power that immediately after He left that place where He had moments before been so discouraged, now faced Judas and the temple guards with absolute purpose! Without hesitation,  He answered to their asking which one of them was Jesus of Nazareth.  The moment He said, “I AM He” the power of God shot right out of Him, carried on those words with a force that completely knocked all those men onto the ground (John 18:6)! Hallelujah!  Never underestimate the invigorating power of God’s Word spoken in season to someone! Make it your goal to listen to His voice each day so you can carry His strengthening power to someone who is waiting to receive it!
