Believer, you need to know that you are living in the final hour of time. The Bible tells us that in the last hour, perilous conditions will be experienced upon the earth. This is why the believer needs to be on fire for God. We need to be a people that have an overflowing zeal for God and His Kingdom. Paul writing to the church at Rome in the above scripture instructed the believers to be aglow and burning with the Spirit! He was instructing them to “stay on fire for God!” Our enemy the devil wants to quench our fire. He wants us to become lukewarm and lose our zeal for souls and the Kingdom of Heaven. His aim is to render us as ineffective through worldly distractions and severe trials, hoping to take our focus off of our first love for Jesus Christ. BUT Jesus warned us in advance of this tactic and told us exactly what to do! He said, “…be of GOOD CHEER…” hallelujah! We can be of good cheer because Jesus has already overcome the world! Our responsibility is to stay steadfast in the truth and keep aglow and burning in the Spirit even amidst trying circumstances. So guard your fire for the Lord – keep your first love for Jesus burning strong! Remain committed and steadfast in reading and meditating on the Word; praying in the Holy Spirit; and constantly fellowshipping with the Lord, giving thanks always! Be eager and ready to share the gospel with others and your heart will remain aglow and burn with the Spirit as we await the return of our Lord!
