Barrenness to Overflow

Sometimes it feels like life has handed you one tough deal after the other and you just can’t see the goodness of God in it all.  According to 2 Corinthians 4:18, each hardship we experience is not only temporary, no matter how difficult, painful, or hopeless it may seem – it pales drastically in comparison to the glory we have in Christ Jesus.

In Romans 8:18, Paul said, with full conviction, “For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.”  He reminds us of the faithful Holy Spirit Who doesn’t watch from afar, but is in and with us. He is very present in all we face, not as a silent partner, but as an active participant ready and eager to help us! Verse 26 says, “So too the [Holy] Spirit comes to our aid and bears us up in our weakness; for we do not know what prayer to offer nor how to offer it worthily as we ought, but the Spirit Himself goes to meet our supplication and pleads in our behalf with unspeakable yearnings and groanings too deep for utterance.”

No matter how barren or fruitless things in your life may seem, you can rely on the Holy Spirit to give you the strength you need to not only overcome but see every area of your life overflow with spiritual blessing.
