Jesus was very intentional when He opened up the scriptures and began reading at this particular portion. The passage written by Isaiah was speaking directly of Him. As He read it, He declared, with great confidence and conviction His purpose and His Father’s perfect will for Him.
Did you know, according to Romans 15:4, the Word of God was written for us? It not only reveals the heart and nature of our Heavenly Father, it clearly shows His perfect will and purpose for us. The Word speaks directly about us. So, just like Jesus did, be intentional when you open up the Word.
Confidently take it in, and let its truth become the conviction of your heart. Speak it over your life, and let it set your course. Make intentionally spending time in God’s Word the primary thing in your life each day. It will instruct you, encourage you, and be your hope.
