Be Kind

Part of the ‘code of conduct we’re called to live by, especially when daily choosing to follow Christ, is to be sober-minded, prayerful, walking in love, and hospitable without complaining.  There is absolutely no way of fulfilling any of these instructions apart from the empowerment of the Spirit of God. Only His love at work within us enables us to do all of this without complaining.

God’s grace is supernatural empowerment that gives us both the desire and strength to carry out His will. Philippians 2:13 says, “[Not in your own strength] for it is God Who is all the while effectually at work in you [energising and creating in you the power and desire], both to will and to work for His good pleasure and satisfaction and delight.” In the very next verse it says we are to do all things, “…without grumbling and faultfinding and complaining [against God] and questioning and doubting [among yourselves].”

Today, choose to yield to God’s love inside you, and be hospitable to others. This is possibly one of the most powerful ways to display His genuine love for them.  Understand, that your kindness will not go unnoticed by God as you represent Him well and mark others’ lives with His love.
