What a wonderful privilege it is to be a child of God. The Bible declares that happy are the people whose God is the Lord! The above scripture is a precious reminder that we are to always bless the Lord, with our minds, our wills, and our emotions. But there’s something else that it also reveals to us, at the latter end of Psalm 103 verse 2, the Bible declares “…forget not all His benefits.” Do you know that there are wonderful benefits to serving the Lord? Praise the Lord. We serve God because we love Him – and because we love Him, He rewards us. You may ask, “Is that all I need to do to walk in God’s blessing? I just need to love Him to be rewarded by Him and receive all His benefits?” It may seem like a small thing, but to really love God is far more than an emotion. It’s a deliberate decision to know Him more and love His ways too. Jesus said if we really love Him, we will obey His Word (John 14:15). What Jesus did for us through the finished work of the cross, from His torture to His being seated at the right hand of the Father – fully included us, in every possible way! What was accomplished for us is no small thing! That price holds our redemption, deliverance, freedom and wholeness, as well as our position of authority in Christ Jesus. If we want to possess the full reality of that – it will cost us our whole lives! His life for ours. If you have even an inkling of what that entails, you will know we have the FAR greater portion of the deal! Our lives are empty and purposeless without knowing and completely surrendering to the Lordship of Jesus Christ! There simply is no downside! He forgives all our iniquities, heals all our diseases, redeems our life from destruction, crowns us with loving kindness and tender mercies, satisfies our mouth with good things and renews our youth like the eagles! Today, remember to bless the lord with all your heart, choosing to love Him above your own life, and all His wonderful benefits will be yours to enjoy!
