God instructs us through His Word, not through pain and calamity. Yet, even if we encounter either of those, as long as we remain in His love and set our hearts on loving Him and doing His will – all things will work together for our good (Romans 8:28). We can absolutely expect to see God’s goodness in the land of the living, because trusting in the LORD singles us out for blessing. The Word says the eyes of the Lord search out those whose hearts are devoted to Him, so He can act on their behalf (2 Chronicles 16:9). The book of Proverbs teaches that the blessing of the LORD makes one truly rich – it brings great gain – and it brings no grievances with it. It brings favour, and accomplishes far beyond what any human effort could.
Walking and working with God ensures that “even the hard pathways overflow with abundance” (Psalm 65:11, NLT). Make the choice today to put your trust in God; entrust your life to Him – there’s no being put to shame for doing so. Instead, there’s a life of abundance to enjoy!
