Blessed to be a Blessing

We live in a fallen world that is under the curse of poverty and lack.  In the new covenant we have in Christ Jesus, we have been set free from the curse of poverty and lack through the finished work of the cross! Hallelujah! This means that as we in faith, obey God’s principle of increase called the law of sowing and reaping, we tap into His supernatural source of provision for us. There will always be those around us that don’t know the truth and have not come to understand how to step into God’s supernatural provision for themselves and have found themselves in a place of lack and poverty for various reasons.  God’s Word makes it clear that we are to not ignore those that are in need, especially when we have the means to help them.  The blessing that God puts on us is not for us alone but also for those around us. John writes, “But whoever has this world’s goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him?” (1 John 3:17).  We cannot say we love the Lord and fail to help those in need. God’s love is always demonstrated by action.  It profits us nothing if we say we love God but fail to take care of our brothers and sisters in need. Going forward let us not look to our own interests alone, but also to the interests of others. Remember that you are blessed to be a blessing to others today.
