Daniel was one such person that unveiled himself as a son of the Most High God. In Daniel 6, we read about how he defied the king’s decree to kill anyone who worshipped anything apart from himself. It was the boldness in his commitment toward God that arrested the heart of the King for Daniel.
The Bible says he was so tormented by his decree and actions against Daniel that he could not sleep or eat or be comforted – until he saw Daniel alive by the hand of his God! Because of Daniel’s bold commitment towards God, the king knew in his heart that there really was only one true God, and he felt utterly foolish at his vain attempt to contest for His glory. When we display our bold commitment to God in every area of our lives, we will experience favour with God and man – just as Daniel did. The threat against Daniel making the stand for righteousness was very real, as it is for us – but the final outcome was glorious!
The bold, tenacious believer that takes God at His Word, despite threats and persecution, will win the hearts of those seeking a Saviour and draw them to know the God who lives within him.
