Build Upon the Rock

It is a fact of life – storms, trials, challenges, trying times will come. As believers, we are not exempt from the trials and tribulations of life. However, as long as our lives are built upon a good, solid foundation, no matter the severity or frequency of the storm – we will remain rooted and secure through it all! The question to ask is, “What foundation is my life built upon?”. The Word says it can either be built on the rock or on the sand. The rock represents God’s Word, and the sand represents anything that is not of the Word. Any belief system that is not based on God’s truth will crumble under the pressures of this world. Even heaven and earth will eventually pass away, but God’s Word will always remain stable, and a steadfast anchor for our souls (Hebrews 6:19).  James 1:21 tells us to, “…receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.” If you are built on the Word, you will remain secure. You will endure and succeed in all your endeavours when you put into practice it’s principles, with a mindset of faith. This is what the Bible calls true wisdom, and it will cause you to be immovable and unshakable in the face of trouble.  Romans 5:17 declares that through the finished work of the cross, we are made to reign in life, in Christ Jesus! Suffering from anything that the Son of God died for you to be free from is not God’s will for you! That includes lack, poverty, sickness, and any form of brokenness in body, soul, and spirit. You and I were purposed to live in victory in Christ Jesus on this earth, and to extend that same privilege to those in the world around us.  So, refuse to be distracted by the cares of this world – build yourself strong on the foundation of God’s Word and live as a beacon of light and hope to a world that is desperately looking for answers to their problems.
