We have been called to a life of total surrender to our Lord Jesus Christ. Laying down all of our old ways and mindsets that were shaped by the thoughts and patterns of this world in exchange for God’s perspective and ways is what the Bible calls our “reasonable service” (Romans 12:1). While on this earth, Jesus was completely dedicated and committed to make the time to isolate Himself, draw near to His Father and receive His perspective before the day broke. In doing this, He demonstrated how we can be filled with His light, which is His perfect will, to face whatever comes our way. Our unbroken fellowship with the Lord, through His indwelling Holy Spirit, is what empowers and enables us to walk in a different manner to those in the world around us. We are called to a higher standard of life. That means, because of Who lives within us, we hold the answer to whatever is keeping people bound. Jesus said it would be better for us if He goes, because with His Holy Spirit living in us we can do greater works. There are people waiting for us to show up to speak deliverance and minister healing to them. They are the good works the Bible says we were created to walk in! Instead of just walking by someone who is sick, hurting, or depressed – we can stop and say, “Here, let me help you!”. Shining the light of Jesus is a great honour! We are here to display the heart of the Father, just like Jesus did, and set the devil on the run as the defeated foe he actually is. Jesus has called you to walk in His light, to make a difference in this world, and He is cheering you on all the way!
