Confident Expectation

The Bible says everything pertaining to life and wholeness is found in God, so it makes perfect sense for us to be completely dependent on Him to be our constant source of wisdom, peace, joy and strength. This Psalm of David was written in the wilderness, where David was fleeing for his life from an enemy who hated him. Even in this moment of feeling desperate and alone, he knew where he could feel safe and secure.  It was in the Presence of His God.

In spite of the odds stacked up against him, David knew how to call on His God Who would always love, protect, and provide for him.  No matter how bleak things appear, we always have a place to cling to: God’s Presence.

We can always run head-first into it, fully expecting Him to meet with us, hold us in His strength, and sustain us. The Message translation of this passage says, “I hold on to You for dear life, and You hold me steady as a post.” Embrace this open
