Consistent Faithfulness

God is bound by His word concerning us!  He said we are clothed in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:1–5) and cannot be separated from His love, “For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:38–39). What a consistently faithful God we serve! No matter what we will face in this life – we will always have His Word to depend on.  He will always provide us with a way out of every temptation and the means to overcome every challenge (1 Corinthians 10:13).  However, the goal is to live in that place of consistent, overwhelming victory, and not have to scramble for the appropriate scriptures to stand on – only when crisis calls for it. Psalm 1 and Jeremiah 17:7-8 both speak of the necessity of continually, as a lifestyle, meditating on the Word of the Lord in order to remain in a place of His safety, blessing, and victory!  Consistency in our faithfulness towards God certainly keeps us in a place of faith and victory.  This is why Jesus made a point of saying, “If ye abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.” (John 15:7).  Make spending time in the Presence of Jesus, and in His Word your most consistent habit.  This way you won’t need to scramble to find the help you need when trouble comes.  Instead, you will already be living in a place of peace, joy, and freedom from worry or fear.  You will already be in a place of faith, knowing that as you ask anything of Him, using His Name – it will be done for you!  Consistent faithfulness runs both ways in God’s kingdom. Psalms 34:19 says, “Many evils confront the [consistently] righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all.”!
