Enriched by the Word

Allowing God’s Word to dwell in you richly is an intentional decision. The book of James tell us that we are to humbly accept the implanted Word, which is able to save our souls (James 1:21). The soul of man consists of his intellect, emotions, and free will.  It’s a place we make decisions from. Everything we experience in life is collected and kept in the recesses of our souls. Attached to those experiences are thoughts and emotions.  Depending on each experience, the memory and information implanted in our souls can be both positive or negative. Each memory triggers a positive, healthy emotion, or a negative, destructive one. What we can be sure of is whatever our soul is full of, or influenced the most by, is what will chart the path and direction of our lives (Proverbs 23:7).

While we don’t always have the power to control our circumstances and experiences, we do posses the power to influence the condition of our souls – and so direct the course of our lives into peace and prosperity. 3 John 1:2 says, “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in every way and [that your body] may keep well, even as [I know] your soul keeps well and prospers.” We must intentionally, and consistently renew our minds to the truth of God’s Word. It’s life and power will heal and redirect every thought, bringing it into agreement with His truth. It’s time to live free and enriched by God’s Word today!
