Enriched through Humility and Obedience

God is the author of true prosperity; it’s His delight to see you prosper and be in good health even as your soul prospers (3 John 1:2).  We can trust God to bring us into a spacious, large, wealthy place of overflow and abundance where all limitations are broken off of our lives. The NKJ version of this verse says the Lord has brought us out to a wealthy place. The Hebrew word for wealthy is “revayah” and can mean; spacious, large, wealthy, overflow, abundance, satisfied, saturated and running over. It’s a large spacious place because it’s a place where there are no  limits to the blessing and abundant goodness of God for our lives.  However, there is clearly a price to pay, and a condition to abide by for this promise to become our reality. 3 John 1:2 sets the standard for us.  Our lives prosper proportionately to the way our souls are prospering. This means our thought life, our emotions, and our will must be in a place of complete surrender to the Lord Jesus Christ.  We must be in a place where every thought and emotion and choice is placed under submission to the truth of God’s word.  We must die to our own desires, will, and purpose and take on His Own for our lives.  Complete humility – which is deliberately choosing His wisdom and ways above our own – leads to willing obedience that opens the way for true prosperity. Isaiah 1:19 says, “If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land”. Determine to abide in the Lord Jesus Christ, remain humbly devoted and obedient to His ways and His voice, and He will lead you into the limitless abundance He has prepared for you to  enjoy!
