The Bible declares in Hebrews 12:14 that we must, “work at living in peace with everyone, and work at living a holy life, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord.” Living a holy life isn’t something too difficult to reach. It simply means living in close, unbroken fellowship with God. It’s where we choose to love Him, listen to His voice, and walk in His ways. As a result, peace, favour, joy, and success becomes our portion!
Jesus said He will give us His peace to enjoy (John 14:27), but it cannot be accessible to those who are not consecrated to Him, by being steadfast in His Word, and obedient to His leading. Remaining steadfast in His Word produces strong, courageous faith inside us, and that is what really pleases the Lord (Hebrews 11:6).
That faith literally pushes us to do whatever the Lord leads us to do, because we have no doubt that His power is already in us to do it! This is how we become pleasing to God and find favour in the sight of man. In fact, even our enemies will be at peace with us as we reflect the love and peace and joy we have in Christ! Pursue a life of closeness with the Lord, where following Him and His will becomes your desire and delight, and you will see His favour and goodness rest on everything you put your hand to.
