Fresh Fire

The fire upon the altar was lit supernaturally by God, but it was to be maintained by the priests every single day. There was to be fresh wood added so the fire never faltered and went out. In the context of the New Testament believer, a spiritual fire from God is ignited in the spirit-man when we become born-again. When we receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit, that fire is accelerated! Then, from day to day, each believer has the responsibility to maintain and keep that spiritual fire burning. The fresh wood needed to keep that fire blazing is the fresh, living Word of God we receive into our hearts and minds.  It’s also the daily surrender to the Holy Spirit and the infilling of His power. That power infuses our spirits with supernatural strength! It also kindles the love, passion, and desire for us to know God more, walk in His ways, and carry His power to others. We must be people who burn with fresh fire in our hearts! Today, settle in your heart that you will daily feed on the Word of God, and drink deeply from the power of His Holy Spirit. As you do, the fire in your spirit will never die out but remain strong and vital for Him.
