God is infinitely perfect; and since He is not limited by factors that bring change, He will always remain the same! His moral consistency guarantees His commitment to upholding His Word forever! That means His plans and purposes cannot be altered by any outside force. Hallelujah! What a reassuring reality: the God of all creation has not changed His mind about us. According to His Word, His thoughts and plans concerning us are GOOD!
Jeremiah 29:11says, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” When Jesus walked among us, the Bible says He came to show us the real nature of His Heavenly Father. God anointed Him with the Holy Ghost and power, and He went about doing good – healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him (Acts 10:38). Since we are born into God’s family, and our spirits have been recreated into the same image of Jesus – His character is our character!
The more we surrender ourselves to the work of the Holy Spirit living within us, the more His character dominates our own and the goodness of God begins to live in and through us – just as it did in Jesus! As believers, this is the glorious reality that we should be living – because as Jesus is, so are we in this world (1 John 4:17).
