God’s Voice in Your Heart

This verse concludes Job’s response to his friend’s speech on the awesomeness of God. He contrasts God’s mighty works and matchless power to the faint whisper of His voice to mankind. The Bible tells us that as great and powerful as our God is, He is mindful of us! He calls us to draw near to Him. He desires intimacy with us, where we remain in step with His heart and connected to His will. Job did not have the Spirit of God living inside him. He didn’t have the privilege of always been able to hear His voice with great clarity and undeniable certainty.   The truth is, even with this wonderful ability, we neglect the importance of turning our attention off of every distraction, and onto Him.  The more time we give ourselves to studying and meditating on God’s Word and communing with Him through His Holy Spirit – the more we experience being one with Him and His ways.  Unlike Job, we are able to recognize and discern His Presence and clearly hear His voice in our hearts even before we witness the thunder of His power. That’s because we are born of God.  Romans 8:14 says, “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.”  Make every effort to keep your attention on the One who lives strong inside of you.  You will hear His voice clearly so you can move with Him as He demonstrates His works of great power through you today.
