God’s Word Is Higher

#FaithDaily God’s Word Is Higher
Psalm 138:2 (AMPC): “I will worship toward Your holy temple and praise Your name for Your loving-kindness and for Your truth and faithfulness; for You have exalted above all else Your name and Your word and You have magnified Your word above all Your name!”

If you have ever doubted the validity and power of God’s Word, then this scripture should bring the truth home for you – loud and clear: God has exalted His Word above His Name! The word “exalted” means to “raise to a higher rank or position”. We know the Name of Jesus is higher than any other name; so high that every knee will and must bow to it. Every named illness, natural disaster, principality or kingdom, must bow to His glorious Name. Now, consider this: God has raised His Word, and all that is written in it, to a higher position than His mighty Name! How can we ever doubt its necessity and value in our lives?

2 Timothy 3:16-17 says, “Every Scripture is God-breathed (given by His inspiration) and profitable for instruction, for reproof and conviction of sin, for correction of error and discipline in obedience, [and] for training in righteousness (in holy living, in conformity to God’s will in thought, purpose, and action).  So that the man of God may be complete and proficient, well fitted and thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

God’s Word has the power to transform us into His image. When we speak it by faith, it will always accomplish what it has promised. And when all is said and done, and all things have passed away, God’s word will remain – unchanged and steadfast. God’s Word is alive and active, and must be given first place in our lives; because God has given it the highest place – so must we.
