The Kingdom of Heaven operates differently from the world’s system. In the world, we are praised for outward accomplishments, with little consideration for what takes place behind the scenes. However in the kingdom of God things are regarded differently. God takes careful note of the things men do not see (1 Samuel 16:7). The state of your heart is more important to God than any outward endeavours for Him. Did you know you can do God’s work with a heart that is far from Him (Matthew 15:8). God looks at the hidden places of our lives, the hidden thoughts and intentions, and He rewards us from that perspective. Determine to set a guard over your heart, chose to make it a place exclusively for the Lord, a secret place where He strengthens, purifies, satisfies, and empowers you for daily victory. When we become so in tune with God’s heart and familiar with His voice, we are able to recognise Him and confidently move in step with Him in all situations. Remember, whatever we have allowed to dominate our hearts will determine the course of our lives. The state of our hearts matters to God, so keep His word hidden there, giving no place to the enemy to plant seeds of discord and discouragement (Psalm 119:11). This will ensure that you will never turn aside from His precepts and remain unaffected by the cares of this world.
