If God has said it, it is final! In John 1, we read that the Word was and will always be, it is a firm foundation for us to build upon and God will never operate outside of what is written in His Word! This gives us great boldness and assurance to know that if He has said it, He will surely do it. Our attitude towards the Word of God determines the place it holds in our lives. How does this relate to today’s scripture? Well, if we don’t fully believe the Word, Galatians 2:20 will not be a firm and established reality for us. The importance of a life fully surrendered to Christ will determine the extent to which His Spirit dominates our daily thoughts, emotions and decisions. Living the higher life – where we reign victoriously over the power of the enemy – enforcing his defeat and establishing the kingdom of God on the earth is a direct result of a life controlled by the Spirit of God. The moment we accepted the Lordship of Jesus, Galatians 2:20 became our story. Our old life and carnal nature no longer exist! We have become a completely new creation with the Spirit of Christ living in us. The more we acknowledge this reality – the more it manifests itself in every detail of our lives. The truth of who we are now – in Christ – carries great power and once it becomes the final authority of our lives, it will drive out anything that is contrary to it. We will never accept anything outside of what the Word of God says we are or belongs to us as heirs to God’s kingdom, even while we are on this earth. We have access to it all. Today, know that your full surrender to Christ results in His Word having the final say in your life.
