When we learn to live IN CHRIST, we experience what it is to be satisfied to the point where we are not disturbed or disquieted, no matter where we are, or what circumstances we are faced with. That’s because we have become skilful in renewing our minds to the truth of God’s Word. God’s Word says that we have been blessed with every spiritual blessing in heavenly places, in Christ Jesus – through His indwelling Holy Spirit (Ephesians 1:3, 2 Peter 1:3). Since the Holy Spirit lives within us – so does His power and every spiritual blessing heaven has to hold. Galatians 5:22-23 names some of these spiritual blessings that are rich in power and the resurrection life of God. All of them live in our inner-man, or spirit-man, that is inseparably connected to the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:17). Now, that resident power is far greater than any opposition we will ever face in the world, because the Greater One lives in us (1 John 4:4). So how do we draw that power out? We simply keep our tongues connected to our spirits, and not our minds! The easiest way to get that flow of life pouring up and out from our spirits and onto our words is by praising and thanking God! Praise Him for Who He is, praise Him for what His Word says is in you, praise Him for what He has promised to do and what He has already done through the finished work of the cross! The more you praise, the more that power flows until every troubling circumstance has to bow it’s knee and conform to the truth you declare (Isaiah 55:11, Job 22:28). When this becomes a learnt behaviour, you will live each day untroubled by the devil and the things life throws your way because you have learnt to keep your attention on the right things and have skilfully released them into the atmosphere around you. This is how you enforce the devil’s defeat and establish God’s kingdom on the earth.
