Jesus – the Word and My Light

There will be times where we are faced with having to deal with difficult situations, that are of a sensitive nature and quite frankly need God’s supernatural wisdom and direct intervention. In these moments, it makes perfect sense to be alone with God, seeking Him and the wisdom of His word. In truth, our immediate response to all challenging circumstances to know what to do, must be to seclude ourselves and commune with God. David boldly declared that the LORD was his light and his salvation (Psalm 27:1).  He knew no matter what, His God would shine light on his dilemmas and provide the wisdom he needed to have them solved. In the book of Isaiah is the promise: “… your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, ‘This is the way; walk in it.’” (Isaiah 30:21).  All throughout Scripture there are more than mere breadcrumbs boasting of God’s faithfulness and willingness to have an intimate relationship with us and lead us into safety and blessing. There are two powerful elements we can combine for liberating and illuminating results: Firstly, our trust in the One who created us for His pleasure, and has never failed or deserted us; and secondly, His word (which is God himself). God’s word is eternal and absolute truth. As we meditate on it and are careful to obey it, we will find peace, direction, joy and strength. Let God’s word be your light today!
