In John 5:39, Jesus said the scriptures all point to Him, so to personally know them, essentially means to personally know Jesus, and in knowing Jesus is eternal life! Of course, this process of knowing Him requires a power that is far beyond the natural. That’s why Peter calls it God’s divine power – it’s a power that is of His own supernatural nature. This power of God is resident wherever His Spirit is. As believer’s we know this power is in us since God’s Spirit lives in us (1 Corinthians 6:17,19, Ephesians 1:19-20). It’s also resident in His Word (Hebrews 4:12, 2 Timothy 3:16). So when we take the time to welcome the Word into our hearts and meditate on its truth – God’s power is released, by the Holy Spirit, from His Word into our spirits. Since the re-born spirit-man is alive with the power of God too – it is able to receive the truth of God’s Word (that is alive with His power), and with our co-operation – renew our minds to that truth and literally transform our thoughts, emotions, and wills to be just like Jesus! (Romans12:2, 2 Corinthians 3:18). What is our part? We simply need to make the time to meditate on God’s Word, agree with it, willingly receive it into our hearts and allow it to govern our lives! Because it’s alive with the life and power of God – it energizes us in every possible way – bringing strength, healing, and deliverance (Philippians 2:13). It releases the strong, supernatural flow of God’s own nature inside us – being His peace, joy, faith, love and all the other powerful fruits of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). Today you can have everything needed to live a supernatural life as you choose to continuously open your heart to know God through His Word of truth!
