When God spoke to Joshua, He instructed him to take all the people of Israel into the Promised Land. Although Joshua had proven faithful from the beginning of the journey, he was not instructed to walk alone. He was told to mobilize the next generation, the ones that were eager to believe God and walk in faith, to enjoy what He had promised them. When Jesus came to earth, He never turned anyone away from receiving the life and freedom His Heavenly Father came to give them – not even children.
In one instance, the disciples asked Jesus to dismiss a huge, hungry crowd after a full day of teaching. Jesus’ response was a solid “No!” He refused to turn the people away until they had physically seen how their God would provide for them. As followers of Jesus, we have freely received freedom and life from walking in our inseparable relationship with Him. We cannot be so inwardly focused that we don’t lead others into that life of freedom and victory too.
Let your life reflect the love and kindness of Jesus so others can be drawn to His saving grace, and a life-long relationship of faith that leads to inheriting His promises, one day at a time!
