When we understand that we were born to know and experience an inseparable relationship with God in this life, living full of Him and for Him, life as we know it changes. We start drawing close to the Lord, spending time in His Presence to receive His love and wisdom, before setting out to do what is required of us for the day.
There is more than enough pressure and pull from the demands of the world’s system to keep us distracted and focused on personal plans, aspirations and ambitions. But the time spent touching His heart and having His Presence fill us with Himself alerts our senses to be sensitive to His purpose instead of our own.
Now, instead of just going through the motion of fulfilling responsibilities and doing what is required to keep us functioning in this world, we live with a purpose burning in our hearts. We begin to see people through His eyes of love and compassion and are drawn to meet their needs – more than the demands of our day’s agenda. We live for Him, responding to His nudges and pulls on our hearts for others. Miraculously, by the end of the day, we see the results of living close to Him, as He enabled us to accomplish more than what was required while touching the lives of those around us with His love.
