The story of Joseph is a wonderful demonstration of God’s ever-watchful care and redemption. In spite of the hatred, abuse and abandonment he suffered at the hands of his own brothers, Joseph learned how to receive the tender love and mercy of God, and demonstrate it to those who mistreated him. When he had the power to avenge himself, he showed grace and compassion instead.
From the moment his brother’s sold him, Joseph experienced the hand of God on his life. He never allowed bitterness or resentment to keep him from doing what was right. Even when he was misunderstood, or unfairly accused, his heart remained tender and trusting towards His God.
Joseph’s story reminds us that even in hard times, as long as we remain faithful to trust and obey the Lord with all our hearts, we will thrive! We will experience His presence and walk in His favour, regardless of how impossible the odds seem against us. Goodness and favour will follow those who choose mercy over justice.
