The Lord told Isaiah to not fear what the people feared. The world is afraid of many things because the devil rules over it (2 Corinthians 4:4). The Bible says that in the last days there will be earthquakes, famines, wars and even rumours of wars. Because of these things the hearts of men will fail them (Luke 21:26). However, as believers, our story is different! We are admonished by the Lord to not fear the things that those in the world fear. We are to fear Him and Him alone. The world is bound by fear because it’s in darkness. However, we as believers live in the light of God’s word! We have received the Spirit of adoption by Whom we cry out, Abba, Father; and not the spirit of bondage to fear (Romans 8:15). We have been given a spirit of power, love and of a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). While the world is gripped by fear, we overcome the world and all its attached fears through our faith. It’s our faith in Jesus that empowers us to laugh in the face of any trial or tribulation. We refuse to succumb to fear! Instead, we are strong and courageous, knowing the Lord is in us, with us, and for us! 2 Corinthians 2:14 says, “Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ…”. Make sure you have made up your mind to remain rooted in the word so that you stay in faith, always rejoicing in the Lord, Who has secured your position of victory in Him!
