Our Eternity Weighs on Our Decision

There really is life after death. Matthew shows us through the Word of God that there are two paths in life, one broad and the other narrow. The broad path is easy to travel, with little resistance. It leads a person to destruction and eternal death, and many people travel on it.  The narrow path is what leads a person to everlasting life, and there are very few people traveling on it. Why is the right path for life so difficult to walk along? I believe it’s because it only gives one option for living. It’s a life-choice of surrendering to the Lordship of Jesus, not the lordship of ourselves. It’s true this may seem difficult – but once the choice is made and we become completely engaged in a life of the Spirit – the peace and joy we experience is incomparable to a life without it!  I would much rather choose a life governed by the wisdom and love of God, with eternal purpose, and the power of the Holy Spirit – than one without it.  Once we have tasted the life of the Spirit – we completely lose our desire for the things of the world. The Book of Revelation says Jesus stands at the door of your heart knocking. A life of communion with Him, through His indwelling Holy Spirit is the way, the truth, and the life!  No one comes to know the Heavenly Father outside of knowing Jesus.  The Bible tells us that Jesus is the Word made flesh.  God’s Word gives clear direction for every step we take along the path of life. Through His Holy Spirit, and His Word, Jesus will lead us along the right path, and we will experience the abundant life and victory He has won for us! God placed eternity into our hearts, He has given every person an awareness of Himself.  It’s up to us to either accept and embrace His life, or reject it. To repent, and turn our back on sin means to turn our hearts towards God and eternal life with Him.  The decision is ours to make and where we spend eternity weighs solely upon it.
