This message Jesus was sharing in the scripture was directed at the Pharisees who had concluded that Jesus was receiving His power from Satan, enabling Him to perform miracles. But the Bible says Jesus knew their thoughts and quickly responded to their ignorance. In the world today it’s easy to see the devil at work deceiving many, but praise God, those who are born of God are led by His Spirit! We have the Divine Genius living on the inside of us – leading us into all truth, whenever we turn our attention towards Him! As long as we keep meditating on the Word of God and fellowshipping with the Holy Spirit, we will not be led off course, finding ourselves on the wrong side of history when the Lord Jesus returns for His bride. We will be found working with the Lord and not against Him! The Pharisees and religious leaders tried to make up any excuse to “lessen” the ministry of Jesus and the urgency of the time. They tried to come up with excuses for His signs, wonders and miracles. As a result, they missed their day of salvation because they refused to pay attention to every prophecy that pointed to Jesus Christ being exactly who He said He was – the fulfilment of scripture – the Son of God, the true Messiah. Is it possible that we see people doing the very same thing today? We have every warning, every prophetic scripture pointing to the times and seasons we are living in. The soon return of Jesus Christ is upon us, yet it’s just business as usual for most of the church. Compromise, deception, lukewarm devotion to the Lord and His Word is at an all-time high for the church. Those who are alert, paying attention to what the Word says, keeping their eyes wide open and their hearts firmly grounded in faith and rooted in the love of God are immovable in what they believe! A life of compromise places us in the dangerous place of being indifferent where we will be taken by surprise simply because we did not pay attention to the right things. Psalm 119:2-3 (NLT) says, “Joyful are those who obey His laws and search for Him with all their hearts. They do not compromise with evil, and they walk only in His paths.” Pay attention to the signs of the times we are living in so you will not be found unprepared or unaware of the time of His return.
