The King James Version of this scripture tells us to “buy the truth, and sell it not”. It’s a call for us to possess the truth. But what is truth and what is the currency for buying it? The Hebrew-English Lexicon defines ‘truth’ as stability; certainty, trustworthiness.
Now, we know that there is only One who is the perfect example of truth – GOD; and He holds one thing above Himself – His Word (Psalm 138:2). How we buy this truth is by exchanging our opinions for God’s opinions – which are recorded throughout His Word. It’s where we realise the value of the truth of God’s Word is life, and we invest in it by obeying what it says to do.
