Powerful Praise

Praise has the power to silence the enemy! It was proclaimed by David, and captured in the Word of God. In the same chapter David writes that the Lord made man ruler over the works of His (God’s) hands and put everything under His feet. This means our praise has a powerful part to play in completing our God-given assignment. Many books have been written and sermons preached on this topic, but praise is more than just a personal fixer-upper or way to start a church service. Praise is more than white noise in the background while doing exercise or getting ready for the day. Praise is a conscious and deliberate action of wielding a powerful sword in the spiritual domain. We can start by expressing thankfulness and meditating on what His Name represents. When we praise, we literally declare God’s Name over our lives and circumstances! This is so powerful because His power, His eternal plan and His character are encapsulated in His name. When we declare the Name of Jesus, we declare the Name above all other names, and  open a vault of power, possibilities and solutions! When we praise, we use the Word of God and release the working power of the Blood of Jesus. Singing in the Spirit, as a form of our praise,   commissions ministering angels to fulfil their assignments. Praise doesn’t account for isolated moments or scheduled events – it is boldly entering His presence where we are accepted and expected before the throne. So let praise be continually on your lips, and rejoice as God’s enemies (and yours) are scattered before you!
