Whenever we find ourselves at a place where Scripture demands more of us – a deeper commitment, a finer character, more giving of ourselves to God’s will above personal convenience – we’re in a good place. It’s the best time to lean in rather than avoid what we’ve read. Jesus said if we love Him we will keep His commands. This means taking the whole truth of the Word – in its entirety – even when it’s uncomfortable. Our complete surrender to the truth of God’s Word, invites His purifying fire to deal with those mindsets that hold us back from walking in the greater things He has for us. The hay, wood and stubble are burned away – to bring out what is of true value in us. Resolving to be diligent students and doers of the Word, through the personal tutorship of the Holy Spirit, will result in Him cutting off every hindrance to His perfect and glorious will for our lives. Proverbs 16:16 says, “How much better it is to get skillful and godly Wisdom than gold! And to get understanding is to be chosen rather than silver.” Embrace the teaching and wisdom of the Word of God, in its entirety. Welcome its pruning in your life – it will lead you into righteousness, peace, and the joy of the Holy Ghost – while making your way prosperous and giving you good success!
