Ready for Our Bridegroom

This Parable Jesus taught ended with the five wise bridesmaids entering the wedding feast, while the five foolish ones were locked out because they were unprepared for the groom’s return.  In Matthew 5:14-16, we are told that Christ living in us reflects a light burning so bright that we are the light of the world. It says this light reflects our moral excellence, and good deeds, and it glorifies our Heavenly Father.  What is responsible for keeping this light burning is the oil of the Holy Spirit. In order for the light of Christ to be reflected in and through our lives, we must be continuously filled with the fresh oil from Heaven. Jesus calls the Holy Spirit a precious gift from heaven! His Presence inside our spirits fuels us for life! He is the oil that causes us to live godly lives that bring glory to the Father. He is the oil that keeps our passion and hunger for God’s Word to transform us into the image of Jesus! His oil refreshes and strengthens and empowers us to live supernatural lives while here on earth. Our attention to keep our hearts open to receive His fresh infilling keeps us living vitally connected to Jesus, where we walk in our authority over the devil, and carry God’s goodness to people wherever we go. When our oil levels remain full, our fire keeps burning, and we remain positioned, ready for our bridegroom.
