Seeds are very powerful because they determine the harvest we are going to experience. God tells us in Genesis 8:22 that seed time and harvest will not cease, as long as the earth remains. That means, while we live on this earth, this is the principle God has established for us to receive whatever we need to not just survive but thrive! The harvest we are currently living in is a result of the seeds we have sown to this point. That’s why we need to ensure that the seeds we sow are intentional and carry eternal value, because then they will produce valuable results with eternal significance for our lives. This too is a principle God established back in Genesis 1:11(NLT), “Then God said, ‘Let the land sprout with vegetation—every sort of seed-bearing plant, and trees that grow seed-bearing fruit. These seeds will then produce the kinds of plants and trees from which they came. ‘And that is what happened.”. The seeds we sow are in various forms, from our thoughts to our words, to our actions and attitudes. Our time and our resources are also seen as seeds. Just as much as what we sow will invariably produce a harvest of the same back into our lives, what we sow into – will most certainly influence the return harvest too. Galatians 6:7-8 in the NLT says, “Don’t be misled—you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant. Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit.”. Let’s determine to fill our lives with a harvest of spiritually rich and valuable things with great significant eternal value!
