As long as we live in this world, there will be situations where we will have to take a stand that is contrary to popular opinion. As believers, the Bible says we are in this world, but not of this world. This means we will have to ‘cross the bridge’ of indecisiveness and take an uncompromising stand for the Lord Jesus Christ. We will need to make the choice to assertively resist the pressure of the world to compromise our faith and Godly values. The only way to do this, with the correct attitude of heart, is by cultivating an intimate relationship with the Holy Spirit and the Word of God. God’s Spirit is our teacher and faithful guide. He will lead us into all truth, teaching us to discern what is acceptable and what is not acceptable as representatives of God’s kingdom. If we are going to overcome darkness in this life and be the beacon of life we are called to be, since before the foundation of the world, we must have firm convictions from God’s Word to live by. Because of the strength of their conviction, the three young, Hebrew men refused to bow and compromise, even in the face of death. An action that brought an entire nation to their knees before the One true God. Determine where you stand before the persecution, so you can confidently make the choice that brings glory to God, and saves your soul.
