Reigning With Christ

Psalm 2 relates to the triumph and kingdom of the Messiah – Jesus Christ – our risen Saviour! God the Father, glorified His Son, gave Him the highest position of power and authority over every rule, dominion and principality and gave Him the Name that is above every other – forever! (Ephesians 1:20-21). No matter how chaotic or hopeless the world around us appears – everything that is taking place has already been recorded in His Word.  Nations may rage, and people who believe they hold the power over the world may plot and scheme, rulers may make plans and set themselves against God – but the Bible says God laughs at them. He scoffs at their arrogance and is about to pour His judgement out on them, as the days of the tribulation approaches. When all is said and done – Jesus Christ will be the One ruling the nations with justice and peace, because God Himself has given Him this privilege. The Bible also tells us He will not be doing this alone.  Those who love Him and His righteous ways and hate wickedness, just as He does – will rule and reign with Him.  Not only will we be saved from the outpouring of His terrible wrath on the wicked (Romans 5:9-10, Revelations 3:10), we will be given glorified bodies (1 Corinthians 15:52-54) to work alongside Him in His kingdom reign (Revelation 20:4-6)! Hallelujah! This is our eternal destiny and purpose; it is what we should be setting our eyes on now.  Our goal is to prepare ourselves to be ready for the day, when Jesus comes to take His bride and have her ready to reign with Him.  We do this by daily abiding in Jesus and keeping His Word in our hearts.  We must declare His Name and truth with confident boldness, while doing His good works among men by the power of His Holy Spirit residing within us.  When these things become our priority – we will be prepared and found ready and worthy to step into our eternal destiny and reign with King Jesus – Our glorious, risen Saviour of the World!
