Release the Spirit into your soul and body

Since much of the Old Testament is a shadow and type of the New Testament, it enriches our understanding when we read them in conjunction to each other.  In this instance, the Bible refers to us having three distinct parts – spirit, soul, and body.  1 Corinthians 6:19 says that our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit – indicating that the body houses the reborn spirit. In the Old Testament the temple was divided into three separate parts: the outer court, which we could correlate with the body; the inner court, which would relate to the soul; and the holy of holies which would be the spirit. Scripture tells us that the only door separating the holy of holies from the inner court of the temple was a thick, heavy curtain.  When Jesus died on the cross, we are told that curtain was rent in two.  Indicating that now the Spirit of God was no longer contained in the holy of holies but was released to enter the inner court and outer court. Praise God! This  means that the Spirit of God who abides in our spirit-man, and contains the fullness of the Godhead with a limitless supply of resurrection life and power to save, deliver and heal can be released into the area of our souls and bodies too! As you turn your affection towards the Lord today, sense His life-giving presence and let your faith direct that power to flow into every area of your mind, and emotions, as well as your physical body, from your spirit-man, the place where God’s Spirit dwells! Hallelujah!
