Paul prayed that we would have the spirit of wisdom and revelation to know and understand the Person of Jesus and everything He accomplished for us through the finished work of the cross. When He died, our old nature that was enslaved to sin died with Him! The book of Colossians says every legal accusation against us was nailed to that cross too! Colossians 2:14 says, “Having cancelled and blotted out and wiped away the handwriting of the note (bond) with its legal decrees and demands which was in force and stood against us (hostile to us). This [note with its regulations, decrees, and demands] He set aside and cleared completely out of our way by nailing it to [His] cross.”. When the Spirit of God caused His resurrection power to raise Jesus up from the dead – we were raised by that same power too (Ephesians 2:6)! We have been given a brand new nature – one that is inseparably connected to God (1 Corinthians 6:17)! That resurrection power still works in us today! It keeps us in the position of righteousness and authority, with Jesus, right next to the Father, in heavenly places! This means we never have to approach our Heavenly Father or face any circumstances with fear or uncertainty again! Instead, we come boldly into the throne room of God with the confidence of those who have been redeemed and empowered! We stand strong, already in the position of victory Jesus won for us! That resurrection power of God that is in our spirits can be released into every part of our lives and into the world around us when we acknowledge it, believe it, and command it to come forth and move – just as Jesus did when He did the works of God and set people free from the oppression of the devil (Acts 10:38). Nothing can stop that flow of power flowing out from you – so start releasing it today!
