When the Word of God takes preference over all else in our lives, victory is secured! This doesn’t mean we won’t face trials and things that contradict God’s promises. It does mean we have the treasure of His Word to know what His perfect will is for us so we can exercise our faith to contend for each promise. The Word shows us the authority we’ve been given to stand our ground in faith and command all things to come into line with the kingdom of God (Matthew 18:19). The Word also explains our benefits of living under the New Covenant, in Christ: We don’t live afraid of the devil and the curse of poverty, sickness, and separation from God’s best for us. Instead, we stand in authority over the devil and all his works (Luke 9:1, 10:19). We see him flee as we live submitted to the Lord (James 4:7); and we know we have been made righteous through the blood of Jesus – so no weapon formed against us will prosper (Isaiah 54:17). All these wonderful truths, and many more besides, prove the Word of God to be one of the greatest treasures we will ever posses! It literally provides the keys to living in victory! As you give God’s Word the honour it deserves in your life, it will bring you great joy, peace, and success as it teaches you your position in Christ, how to refuse fear, and live each day in overcoming faith!
