Life’s true treasure is not found in earthly wealth or material possessions. Jesus is life’s true treasure. Romans 8:32 says, “He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?” When we live in Christ, we position ourselves in the place of God’s continuous supply of provision. Everything we have flows from Him. As our hearts are fixed on Jesus and we prioritise spending time in His Word, and constantly acknowledge Him in all we do, loving Him and His ways – He becomes our treasure! When He truly has our heart and our affections – Jesus becomes our greatest reward! (Matthew 6:21). We soon discover there is absolutely nothing or no-one that compares with Him. Even when God blesses us with earthly wealth or possessions, our hearts are never set on those things as they are on Him. Our hearts are so thankful for His blessings, but they are overwhelmed for the privilege of knowing Him. He enriches our lives. John 1:16 says the Lord gives us gifts heaped upon gifts – but the thrill of experiencing His tangible Presence any time we turn our attention towards Him is even greater! How wonderful to know we have a hidden treasure in our earthen vessels (2 Corinthians 4:7). The life of Christ in us is more valuable than silver or gold. Nothing will ever be able to take this prize away from us, and nothing will be able to separate us from His love that continuously pours into our hearts (Romans 8:38; 5:5). Determine to set your mind and heart on the higher things today, as you begin to acknowledge every good thing you have in Christ Jesus! (Philemon 1:6).
