Although we cannot physically see our inner-man, we can come to know the things of the Spirit of God that possesses it, and the marvellous life He has created for us to walk in! We know these things by the Word of God. 2 Corinthians 5:17 describes how our spirit-man became a completely new creation the moment we surrendered our hearts to Jesus. John 14 and 16 describes the personal purpose and ministry of the Holy Spirit for us as believers. Galatians 5:22-23 describes the nature of the Holy Spirit that has become our own, and the book of 1 Corinthians teaches about the empowering grace and gifts of the Holy Spirit for us; wonderful gifts we are expected to operate in until Jesus returns. 2 Timothy 3:16 tells us that all scripture is God-breathed. It is inspired by the Spirit of God. His life is in the very words! As we read the Word, He makes the words come alive in us, as we meditate on the truth, He helps us understand it’s wisdom and shows how we can apply it to our lives to bring change. Our own human efforts will never be enough to gain eternal life, nor will they be able to bring true transformation inside us. Zechariah 4:6 says it’s not by might, or power, but by the Spirit of God that we are able to accomplish anything of true, eternal value in this life. God designed us to live by our spirits that are inseparably connected to His Spirit. This flow of eternal life and wisdom must overpower our flesh and have the chief influence over what we think, our conversations, our emotions, and all we do. Through God’s Spirit in us we can live a life far above, while on this earth!
