Stand Your Ground

King Jehoshaphat carefully obeyed the instructions of the Lord while facing the possibility of a brutal attack from surrounding armies – and victory was theirs! In the natural, singing and praising God in front of a bloodthirsty enemy sounds like a foolish strategy. However, in the realm of the spirit, heartfelt praise is the most strategic tactic we can have against our enemy, the devil.

The Word says God is enthroned and inhabits the praises of His people. So in essence, our praise brings our victorious God right into the midst of the battle. No demon from hell or evil principality is going to stick around a believer who knows their God, and praises Him with all their heart – in the face of trouble.

The truth of the matter is Jesus has already defeated the enemy for us, and stripped him of all power to harm us. The devil knows this well; but if he sees we are not convinced of our victory, he won’t hesitate to steal what already belongs to us. Don’t give him the opportunity! Resist him and begin to praise God with all your heart, because He has already given you the victory. Don’t move from that position of resistance and victorious praise, until you see the devil retreat with all his symptoms and empty threats. Stand your ground, because the victory is already yours!
