The second coming of Jesus is imminent! He is coming back for His bride, to take her out of this world and to the marriage feast of the Lamb! Sadly, the Bible clearly indicates that not all believers will be ready for His second coming. The word teaches that Jesus was the second Adam, the One who restored what the first Adam lost through sin to mankind. So all who call on the Name of the Lord will be saved, and become a part of the body or church of the Lord Jesus Christ. As the first Eve came out of the body of the first Adam, the second Eve (those who are ready for the second coming) will come out of the body (church) of the second Adam. 1 Thessalonians 5:23 says that our spirit, soul, and body must be preserved blameless in order to be ready for the return of the Lord Jesus Christ. Since our re-born spirit is already blameless and perfect, our flesh must be continually sanctified and kept in a place of being pure, holy and blameless before the Lord too. Matthew 24:42-44 warns us to remain in a place of anticipation and readiness, having our lives in order for the coming of Jesus. We can do this because 1 Corinthians 2:16 says that we already have the mind of Christ, and hold the thoughts and purposes of His heart; and 1 Peter 4:1-2 says that when we live with the mind of Christ, we are done with intentional sin and have stopped pleasing our flesh and rather please God! Now we no longer spend the rest of our natural lives living by our human appetites and desires, but for what God wills. Hallelujah! This is what is called living the higher life! It’s what living by the spirit instead of the flesh looks like and positions us to be ready for our bridegroom! The actual catching away is the final part of the rapture – the begging part involving the separation of the bride from the sleeping church has already begun. Wake up! Live the higher life and be ready – your bridegroom is coming!
