The Journey of Faith: Part II

This Scripture reveals that “the steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord…” First of all, remember that Jesus said: “No one is good, except God alone” (Mark 10:18). The word, “good”, actually refers to “righteousness”. We are not perfect, we’re not even “good”; however, we have become the righteousness of God through Christ Jesus! In this verse, the word, “man” refers to a “warrior” or a “valiant man” – someone possessing or showing courage or determination.

You may not feel courageous or determined right now, but in Christ Jesus – this is your true identity. When God called on Gideon, the Angel of the Lord referred to him as a “mighty man of valor”, even though he was hiding in fear at the time. God speaks from the perspective of your identity in Him, and not the way you feel about yourself at that moment. He is the Spirit of Truth, and He will lead you into the truth of who you truly are in Him.

Today, know that you are called, chosen, accepted and loved. Remember that you are who He says you are – a warrior, powerful and victorious in Him.
