Jesus said that in this world we will face difficult, distressing and dangerous times. In Matthew 24 He mentions a dramatic increase of the intensity and frequency of “birth pains” on the earth in the last days of the church age, before He comes to fetch His bride. They will be days of great deception, wars and rumours of wars, famines and plagues. Then, in both cases, in the same breath of His warning, Jesus tells us to comfort one another with these words. He tells us to be of good cheer! Why? Because He has already overcome this world and deprived it of its power to harm us! We serve a wonderful, loving Heavenly Father who cares deeply for His children. A covenant God who has given us principles in His Word to apply with faith that will keep us in a place of His divine protection and provision, no matter what the circumstances of the world around us are. We will always have victory over lack and trouble when we act on God’s principles with a mindset of faith! That’s why Jesus told us to have the faith of God! (Mark 11:23). The wonderful news is we already have that God kind of overcoming faith, because 1 John 5:4-5 says we do! It says everything that is born of God overcomes this world and that the victory that overcomes it is our faith! Hallelujah! Because we are born of God, we have the faith of God to apply His principles of sowing and reaping and walking in love to overcome! So, while the world around us increases in darkness, turmoil and fear – the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn that grows brighter and brighter until it reaches the fullness of day (Proverbs 4:18). Choose to have the mindset of faith as you practice God’s principles, and His divine protection and provision will be exactly what you will walk in in these last days.
