When the Holy Spirit came upon Saul, the Bible says God gave him a new heart and he was turned into a different man. The Holy Spirit uses ordinary people and empowers them to do extraordinary things – through Him. It is not by our own might or power but by His Spirit. David was a shepherd boy who faithfully watched over his father’s flock. Yet through the power of the Holy Spirit, he was able to slay a lion and a bear as well as a giant Philistine warrior! When David was anointed king, the Bible says the Spirit of God came upon him mightily. Without the Holy Spirit he would not be able to do what he did.  Another example is Gideon. The Bible tells us the Holy Spirit came upon Gideon and clothed him with Himself. Gideon, a man who was the weakest in his father’s household, was used by God to decimate an entire Midianite army. The reason why these men accomplished such great feats in the name of the Lord was not because of their own power or ability but because of the one that was upon them, the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit uses the foolish things of this world and the things that are despised to confound the wise. Why? Because His power is made perfect in our weakness. Never underestimate what God can do through you. He used Moses, a man slow of speech, to speak to one of the most powerful kings on the earth at the time. Through His Spirit all things are possible, and since He dwells within the Believer, we are never without that limitless, matchless power each day!
