The Promise in Motion

The Promise in MotionIn reading Hebrews 6:13-20, we encounter the strong love and passion that God has for us. Verse 13 and 14 tell us that God took an oath in His own Name because there was no one greater to swear by. He promised Abraham that He would certainly bless him and multiply his descendants. The promise was spoken, and immediately went into effect.  However, Abraham had to contend for that promise to become his reality by waiting patiently for it. The word patient means to remain so steadfast in hope, that you are not shaken from it. Which is exactly what happened to Abraham.  In the natural, he had every reason necessary to give up hope of ever walking in the reality of God’s promise, but the Bible says his faith did not waver, he remained fully persuaded that God would do exactly what He had promised. God’s promise to Abraham belongs to us through Christ (Galatians 3:29). The same way God dealt with Abraham, He extends His heart and hand to us. We have His promise and His oath. We have His Name. We have His Presence. We have His sacrifice – Jesus Christ. God will certainly bless you and multiply your descendants in Jesus Name Amen! All that is required is a genuine trust and belief in God’s faithfulness to honour His Word. Wait patiently for the promise – it’s already in motion.
